OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

At approximately 4 a.m. on June 19, 2025, LAPD officers from the Rampart Division responded to multiple burglary reports at the Alexandria Apartments. On arrival, officers encountered Victor Manuel Carrillo on the second floor. Carrillo was seen holding a knife and throwing ceramic pots and pieces of wood at officers. LAPD deployed less-lethal munitions, then escalated to lethal force. Officers opened fire, and Carrillo was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Force Investigation Division is conducting an internal review under state law.
