OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On June 23, 2025, deputies responded to a 911 call from a woman who said she had been held at knifepoint throughout the night. She escaped around noon and reported her boyfriend was barricaded inside their apartment. SWAT bore down on the residence for hours. Police claim he stepped out armed with a knife and moved toward deputies after refusing commands. Two deputies then shot him, and he was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is leading the investigation.
