OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/27/2025, CHP officers responded to a 911 call for a man covered in blood and armed with a knife on Anchor Way west of US-101 in Crescent City. Emergency medical personnel were already on scene when the man approached them. Officers arrived, deployed a Taser, and a CHP officer shot him. He was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital, where he died. The incident is under investigation.
