OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

Antioch Police responded to a 911 call on June 30 reporting that a man in a home on Osprey Drive was threatening to kill occupants. Officers arrived at approximately 7:15 a.m. and encountered a man armed with a knife—later identified by family as 26‑year‑old David Bahrami, a recent college graduate. Bahrami rushed toward officers on the driveway while holding the knife. At least one officer fired in self-defense, fatally wounding him. Officers provided immediate aid, but Bahrami died at the scene. Antioch PD and the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office are conducting standard investigations into the incident. His family disputes that he intended to attack, stating he may have been trying to flee, not advance.
