Jayvion Barthel had allegedly pulled a gun on someone in a school fight. The event passed but police continued looking for him. During a traffic stop, plainclothes officerssaw him in a vehicle and engaged in an unknown manner with him when he was a backseat passenger in the stopped vehicle. He was shot and killed. Police claim that he was a gang member and made extensive efforts to portray him in a negative light and recite his old juvenile record but failed to explain why they killed Jayvion Barthel.
