On July 3, 2025, Grayson County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on the 400 block of Bonham Street in Tom Bean. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Nathan Edwards. Police claim that he was armed and made an unspecified threatening movement with the weapon. A deputy opened fire and killed him. The Texas Rangers are investigating the fatal shooting.
