OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On June 30, 2025, Fort Worth Police stopped Melvin Pardue, 77, during a traffic stop related to an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge. During the encounter, Pardue shot himself. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner and Fort Worth Police Department are investigating.
