OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/07/2025, Ector County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a person allegedly firing a weapon in the 800 block of Avenue K in Odessa. Deputies approached the individual in a vehicle. Deputies stated the person fired shots at them. The deputies opened fire, shooting and killing him at the scene. The Texas Rangers and North Texas Regional DPS are conducting an independent investigation. The deputies involved were placed on administrative leave.
