COn 08/25/2023, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers responded to a domestic violence call at the 5000 block of Roundstone Way. Officers entered the residence and encountered Trinity Scot Deese, 34. Authorities reported that Deese had stabbed a woman multiple times before police arrived. During the confrontation inside the home, officers opened fire and struck Deese. He died from gunshot wounds. Authorities reported one firearm was involved in the police shooting. The injured woman was transported for medical treatment. The Mecklenburg County District Attorney later stated that the officer’s use of deadly force was justified.
