OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Charles Samuel Urbach, 37, died on 06/29/2025 after being taken into custody by Jacksonville Sheriff's Office officers for allegedly prowling and attempting to enter an occupied home. Police used a K-9 to locate Urbach hiding near a pond and took him into custody. Officers claim he became combative and elbowed one officer during a search, leading them to use "minimal force" to secure him in a patrol car. Urbach became unresponsive in the vehicle, and EMS was called. He was administered two doses of Narcan and later died at the hospital. The incident is under investigation.
