OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On July 26, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., New Braunfels Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call at the Sage Apartments. Upon arrival, Ryan Kade Delahunt allegedly brandished a sharp weapon and lunged toward officers. Two officers discharged their firearms, striking Delahunt. Life-saving efforts were immediately initiated, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Delahunt was a 33-year-old resident of Spring, Texas. His name had initially been withheld pending notification of next of kin. Both officers have been placed on administrative leave while New Braunfels PD and the Texas Rangers conduct investigations.
