Event : Motorcycle driver killed by police chase crash

OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On July 22, 2025, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper attempted to stop 18-year-old Javion Giovanni Crim for reckless driving on IH-14 in Belton. Crim refused to stop, escalating the encounter into a high-speed pursuit. The motorcycle exited onto the IH-35 northbound service road, where Crim ran a red light and weaved through traffic at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
The chase ended tragically when Crim's motorcycle collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler truck and subsequently caught fire. Emergency responders transported Crim to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
