On July 17, 2025, Garland Police Department received multiple calls reporting a naked man exhibiting erratic behavior in public on Marketplace Drive. Officers located Keneth Alexander Mendez Aguero, who was visibly distressed and noncompliant upon police arrival. Officers attempted to engage and detain him peacefully, but he resisted arrest aggressively, requiring multiple officers to physically restrain him.
During the restraint, Mendez Aguero suffered a sudden medical emergency consistent with cardiac arrest or positional asphyxia, according to preliminary medical examiner reports. Emergency medical services were called immediately, and officers began life-saving efforts at the scene.
