OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/05/2025 at approximately 9:14 p.m., law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire and a domestic disturbance at a residence on Crest Drive in Craig. Officers confirmed a man, later identified as Shaun Burdick, was armed and had barricaded himself inside the home. The Moffat County Special Response Team and crisis negotiators were called to the scene to assist.
Aerial drone footage captured the man lying between two vehicles outside the residence holding a gun. Tactical teams moved in carefully and confirmed Burdick was deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation remains ongoing under the jurisdiction of the involved agencies.
