On 08/18/2025, deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call in an unincorporated area near Joshua. Deputies encountered a man armed with a knife. During the confrontation, deputies opened fire, killing him at the scene. The Texas Rangers are conducting an independent investigation. The man’s identity has not been released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
