On 08/18/2025, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department attempted a traffic stop on a Chevy Suburban in Hesperia for several vehicle code violations. The driver refused to stop, and officers escalated a chase. The pursuit ended in a rollover crash, killing the driver. Two other occupants fled the scene on foot and remain at large.
