OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/21/2025 at approximately 10:08 p.m., Baton Rouge Police attempted to stop a 2020 Honda Accord in the Mall City area for a traffic violation. The driver, 24-year-old Janae Fieldings, continued driving and officers escalated a chase. She lost control near North Foster Drive and Greenwell Springs Road, crashing into a water line, wooden fence, and the rear of a business. The vehicle caught fire. Fieldings died at the scene. Two passengers were pulled from the vehicle and transported to the hospital in critical condition.
