OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On August 22, 2025, around 3:40 a.m., Orlando Police responded to a roommate dispute on the 500 block of Chatham Avenue near Luminary Green Park. A man in his 40s charged at officers wielding scissors and making slashing motions. Despite commands to stop, he continued advancing, and two officers opened fire, shooting him. He died at the scene. A nearby coffee shop was struck by police bullets. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting an independent investigation.
