On 09/03/2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Alexandria police responded to Chester Street, near Rapides Avenue, less than 24 hours after a separate shooting had occurred in the same area. During the encounter, officers were involved in a shooting. One individual was shot and later pronounced dead. The Louisiana State Police are conducting an investigation.
