OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 09/03/2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Bay County deputies responded to multiple 911 calls about a man walking on Webber Street near Highway 231 with a magazine-fed shotgun and acting erratically. When a deputy made contact, the man fired at the deputy. The deputy opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. No deputies were injured. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating, and the deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome.
