On September 4, 2025, Adrian Mercado, 42, shot and killed two people at a residence on Stafford Run Drive in Stafford. When police responded, Mercado barricaded himself inside and a standoff began. During the incident, Mercado fatally shot himself. Police confirmed the deaths of two victims before Mercado’s suicide. The Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation
