Around 7:40 a.m. on March 23, 2025, a juvenile called 911 reporting her mother was being assaulted and kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, who was armed. The man forced the woman into a Mercedes sedan and drove away from an apartment complex on Oro Vista Road. Officers from the San Diego Police Department pursued the vehicle and deployed spike strips on Tocayo Avenue. After the vehicle stopped, the woman escaped. The man then shot and killed himself in the vehicle as police surrounded the scene.

On March 23, 2025, around 3:47 a.m., Hillsborough County deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a home on Lake Montauk Drive in Riverview. They found a woman outside with visible injuries who said her boyfriend, Manuel Alvarez, was inside armed with a gun. As deputies approached, Alvarez reportedly shouted threats and pointed a firearm at them. Deputy Shawn Swinford opened fire and shot Alvarez twice in the upper torso. A woman had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Max Dominguez, 27. When the officer arrived, Dominguez partially opened the door but refused entry. The officer pushed the door open, causing Dominguez to fall back on a bed. Dominguez then grabbed a machete and rose toward the officer. The officer opened fire and shot Dominguez, who later died at the hospital. The department confirmed prior incidents at the residence and Dominguez’s past record, which included violent offenses.

On 03/22/2025, at approximately 7:16 p.m., a mass shooting occurred at the intersection of Pearl Street and Lamar Street in downtown Jackson, Mississippi, following Hal's St. Paddy's Parade. Among the victims, 21-year-old Cortez Jerome George was shot and killed by multiple gunshots. The investigation led to the arrest of an off-duty University of Mississippi Medical Center Police Department officer, Michael McLeod, who was off duty at the time of the incident. Arrested with him was his brother, Marquavius McLeod, who had also participated in the shooting.

On March 27, 2025 and charged with first-degree murder and multiple counts of aggravated assault. Following his arrest, McLeod was terminated from his position at UMMC PD. As of the latest available information, he is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond, Mississippi, and has been denied bond.

On March 22, 2025, Reno Police responded to reports of an attempted armed carjacking on Silverada Boulevard. The man, later identified as Marcus Gifford, 28, was wanted in an armed kidnapping and domestic violence case in Roseville, California. After failing to carjack the first vehicle, he allegedly forced another person to drive him to Sparks, Nevada, where he successfully carjacked a third vehicle. Nevada Highway Patrol spotted the stolen car and escalated a pursuit. The chase ended on Sutro Street in Reno when Gifford crashed into a tree. At approximately 3:15 p.m., Gaston police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle due to a tag that did not match the vehicle and appeared altered.
