OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 09/06/2025, deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance in Reedley where 43-year-old Michael Rocha allegedly shot his wife in front of their children and fled in a Chevy truck. The following morning, Rocha was located near Woodlake. Deputies pursued him, during which he fired a rifle at officers. The chase ended near Road 222 and Avenue 340, where Rocha exited the vehicle and exchanged gunfire with deputies. He was shot and killed at the scene. The Visalia Police Department is conducting an independent investigation.
