OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 09/08/2025, Louisiana State Police attempted a traffic stop as part of a narcotics investigation in Houma. The driver refused to stop and police escalated a pursuit that ended at a dead end on Lake Long Drive. A passenger exited the vehicle armed, and a trooper opened fire, killing the passenger at the scene. The driver fled again, later crashing near Louisiana Highway 1 and Lefort Bypass Road. He sustained minor injuries, was taken to a hospital, and will be booked into Lafourche Parish Correctional Center upon release.
