On 09/25/2025, Federal Heights police responded to a domestic disturbance at a local storage facility near West 90th Avenue and North Federal Boulevard. Officers reported that a man and woman involved in the disturbance entered a vehicle and rammed a police unit. Police opened fire, striking occupants of the vehicle. Two individuals were transported to a hospital, and one man later died from his injuries. A Federal Heights officer sustained minor injuries. The 17th Judicial District Critical Response Team is investigating the shooting.
