On 03/13/2025, a 38-year-old male from Jackson failed to yield while riding a dirt bike and police escalated a chase into Cape Girardeau. The pursuit entered the Southern Expressway, where the motorcycle collided with a semi-trailer near Kingshighway. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control opened a criminal investigation into the pursuit.
