On 10/01/2025, San Angelo police responded to a shooting at Oak Grove Senior Apartments. Juan Badillo, 69, shot a 48-year-old woman multiple times before barricading himself inside his third-floor apartment. The woman escaped and was hospitalized in stable condition. Police evacuated residents and attempted negotiations, then deployed chemical munitions before breaching the unit. Badillo was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
