On October 3, 2025, a Lemoore police officer responded to an apartment on Blake Street to take a statement regarding a prior assault. While speaking with the resident, the individual suddenly produced a knife and attacked the officer. The officer fired one round, striking the individual. The man dropped the knife and collapsed. Medical aid was requested, but he was pronounced dead from the gunshot wound.
