On 10/10/2025, around 6:30 a.m., a Garland Police officer driving east on West State Street struck a disabled truck stopped in the dark intersection at McKinley Street. A man standing in front of the truck, identified as 32-year-old Juan Pablo Rio Aguilar, was hit and fatally injured. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The officer sustained minor injuries and was released from the hospital. The Garland Police Department is investigating the fatal crash.
