OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/10/2025, around 8:15 p.m., an off-duty Orange County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed 50-year-old Agustin Vazquez Calvillo near Holy Jim Trail and Main Divide Road at Santiago Peak. According to authorities, Calvillo appeared intoxicated and was armed with a firearm. The deputy identified himself as law enforcement and issued multiple commands for Calvillo to raise his hands. When Calvillo reportedly removed his firearm from its holster, the deputy opened fire, killing him. No other individuals were injured.
