On 10/15/2025, a law enforcement pursuit across Clear Creek County ended in a deadly collision on Highway 6 near Interstate 70. Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Christopher Moore, who was reportedly on parole and wearing a GPS ankle monitor. Moore fled, driving the wrong way on the interstate, and collided head-on with another vehicle. Moore and the uninvolved driver, 51-year-old Steven Ainsworth, were both killed at the scene. The Colorado State Patrol is leading the investigation.
