On February 20, 2021, Lincoln Police and Nebraska State Patrol engaged a vehicle tied to an earlier robbery report. Police escalated a pursuit; the driver continued driving. Near 56th Street and Arbor Road, police said the pair pointed firearms at officers during a standoff. Officers opened fire. Hailey R. Stainbrook, 30, was struck and died at the scene. A grand jury later cleared involved officers.
