On February 22, 2021, around 1:00 p.m., a motorcyclist on a Kawasaki refused to stop for the California Highway Patrol while traveling northbound on Interstate 15 near Fallbrook. The rider sped off at high speed and collided with a Toyota Camry and the center guardrail, suffering fatal injuries. He was transported to Palomar Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
