On June 6, 2025, officers with the Grand Prairie Police Department attempted to stop a Harley-Davidson motorcycle not displaying a license plate in the 800 block of South Belt Line Road. The rider fled at high speed, and the pursuit ended when the motorcycle failed to navigate a curve near Wheat Hill Drive, crashed, and was later found to have been stolen. A quantity of suspected narcotics was also discovered at the scene. The rider was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
