On February 25, 2021, officers with the Ogden Police Department attempted to stop a man who was wanted on multiple felony warrants, including armed robbery and sexual assault. He fled in a vehicle, prompting a multi-agency pursuit involving the Weber County Sheriff’s Office and Utah Highway Patrol. The chase continued through several residential streets before Morales lost control of the vehicle near the 800 block of 32nd Street and Adams Avenue in Ogden.
After the crash, the man exited the vehicle armed with a pistol and pointed it at officers. Police opened fire, striking and killing him at the scene.
