On February 27, 2021, Dora police responded to a location on High Street in Walker County. During the encounter, two officers were injured and taken to a local hospital. Police opened fire on Roger Dale Gibson, 27, who was also transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency assumed the investigation and will submit its findings to the Walker County District Attorney. No officer names were released.
