OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/27/2025, officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 5500 block of Ridgecrest Road near Rosette Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers encountered an armed man at the scene. During the confrontation, at least one officer opened fire, striking the man. He was transported to University Hospital, where he later died. The incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police Public Integrity Unit.
