OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/27/2025, at approximately 10:24 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an armed man in mental health crisis near Plainfield Road and Daniels Circle in West Point, Mississippi. Deputies encountered the man, who reportedly charged at them while armed. Officers opened fire, striking him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies were injured. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is leading the inquiry and will submit its findings to the Attorney General’s Office.
