OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/27/2025, just before 9:00 p.m., Denver Police officers responded to an armed robbery at the Maverik gas station on the 3200 Block of South Parker Road. The armed man locked himself inside the store with two employees. Officers developed a tactical entry plan and heard gunfire from inside before entering. Police returned fire and struck the man. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died. One officer was shot and underwent surgery. Two store clerks were also injured with non-life-threatening wounds, though it is unclear whether they were struck by police or the gunman.
