OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On October 23, 2025, two brothers, ages 10 and 8, were killed when a Baytown Police Department patrol car collided with their family’s minivan at the intersection of West Baker Road and Country Club Drive. Officer Michael Hightower was responding to a “person with a weapon” call at the time of the crash. The children’s mother and three sisters were also injured, two critically. The incident is under investigation by Harris County authorities, who are reviewing dash camera and intersection footage to determine the events leading to the fatal collision.
