On 08/05/2023, at approximately 1:11 a.m., a Columbus Division of Police officer responded to a reported disturbance near South High Street and Rowe Road. While investigating, the officer encountered 27-year-old Zachary Logan Bryson. According to police, Bryson advanced toward the officer while holding a broken glass bottle. The officer fired his service weapon, striking Bryson.
Bryson was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:55 a.m. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation into the shooting. Columbus police later identified the decedent as Zachary Logan Bryson.
