On 08/05/2021, law enforcement responded to a hit-and-run accident in eastern Idaho and located a vehicle they felt may be involved. A Blackfoot police officer initiated a low-speed pursuit. The vehicle crashed and three individuals fled on foot. A sheriff’s deputy was shot in the arm during the encounter.
