On 11/15/2025, officers responded to reports of an assault near the Applebee’s restaurant at 1235 Magnolia Avenue. Police located an adult man outside the business holding a tire iron. Officers reported that they attempted commands, and during the encounter the situation escalated. Officers opened fire and the man was struck. He was transported to a hospital where he died.
