On 11/17/2025, officers were at a homicide scene in Brownsville when DaShawn Larode opened the door of a nearby apartment and fired a gun, injuring an officer. Police opened fire and Larode retreated into the apartment. Officers later entered and found him dead from a gunshot wound.
