OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/06/2025, Senior Trooper William Miller arrived at a crash scene on Grace Chapel Road where first responders had reported that Scott Patrick Seagle was armed with a handgun. Police gave commands which Seagle did not follow while continuing to display the firearm. Trooper Miller opened fire and killed him. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the shooting.
