On 12/04/2025, Omaha police officers responded to a reported shooting at a gas station in South Omaha. During the encounter, Juan Ayala Ramos opened fire toward officers, striking multiple police vehicles. Officers opened fire during the exchange. Ramos was shot and killed at the scene.
