OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/29/2025 deputies responded to a domestic violence call on South Creosote Draw Road involving a report of a gun. Police said John Allan McDonald fired a shot outside the home before leaving on foot. Deputies located him nearby and said he refused commands. Police claimed he grabbed a gun from his pocket and walked toward them and an officer opened fire and killed him. The incident remains under investigation.
