OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/28/2024, Fullerton Police Department officers responded to a collision at West Commonwealth Avenue and North Basque Avenue involving a motorcycle and a Toyota Rav 4. Preliminary information stated that a white compact sport utility vehicle traveling eastbound on Commonwealth Avenue attempted a U turn at North Basque Avenue and caused westbound traffic to stop suddenly. The motorcyclist who was traveling westbound on Commonwealth Avenue attempted to avoid the stopped vehicles and was ejected from the motorcycle into oncoming eastbound traffic. A Toyota Rav 4 traveling eastbound on Commonwealth Avenue struck the rider in the roadway and Fullerton Fire personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators stated that no other vehicles were involved and that drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in the collision.
