OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On December 16, 2025, law enforcement officers from the Corvallis Police Department, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Linn County Regional SWAT Team responded to execute a warrant at a residence in the 800 block of NW 23rd Street in Corvallis, Oregon, related to a stolen firearm. The man barricaded himself inside a room and initially refused to exit. After negotiations and tactical efforts, SWAT forced limited access to the room. Inside, officers found 29-year-old Jacob Jaeger deceased from an apparent drug overdose. Life-saving measures were attempted but unsuccessful. A loaded handgun was found near Jaeger. The incident remains under investigation, and no additional identifying or investigatory details have been released at this time.
