OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/19/2025 in Rochester, New York, police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Chili Avenue after a 911 caller reported that his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend was trying to break into a home and was armed. When officers arrived, Eric Davis fired at them, striking multiple officers and a civilian. Davis fled on foot and later engaged officers again on Thurston Road, where law enforcement returned fire and struck him. Davis died at the scene from his injuries. Several officers and a civilian were hospitalized with injuries from the exchange of gunfire. The New York State Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation is reviewing the incident.
